The Russian Revolution

We booked and paid for our Russian trip on the weekend.

Even though we were determined to do our trip independently, they make it hard in Russia!
So, we have swallowed our pride and booked a tour.

It's called 'Russian Revolution'. Starts in St Petersburg, then goes to Vladamir, Suzdal (where we'll be trying out a Russian banya), then finishes in Moscow.

  • Gwil and I went to a screening of 'Date Movie' tonight. Check out the trailer here. It looked like it might be funny. It has Alyson Hannigan in it. We'd had our faith renewed in bad comedy after watching Legally Blonde on Sunday night. But we were totally disappointed. Except that Jennifer Coolidge played a great Mrs. Fockyerdoder (sending up Barbara Streisand from Meet The Fockers).

LOL have to laugh at your problems with the Russians, we had exactly the same problem in 1969. Intourist wouldn't let us book accommodation till we had our Visa but the USSR Embassy wouldn't let us have a Visa till we booked our accommodation... we wore them down eventually but not before agreeing to have a one day (read propaganda) tour in each of the Cities we visited.
    cheers Pennie
P.S. St Petersburg was called Leningrad back then and that is where we spent our 2nd wedding Anniversary... at the Moscow Circus.
